Mobile and Online Transactions Safety Tips

  • DO NOT save your PINBanking Details on your phone. NEVER share your password and personal details especially your ID number / Account Number via SMS or call with anyone.
  • Avoid using passwords or PINs that are easy for someone else to guess e.g. sequence number 0000 or 1111, your year of birth, current year, your ID number etc.
  • During an online transaction process, always ensure that you log in from a secured internet connection. Never log onto your bank account from a cyber cafe or using public Wi-Fi and hotspots.
  • Beware of emails and phone scams including messages about competitions you have not signed up for. Do not respond to such scam messages or call back to verify as most of them will ask for your bank account details.
  • Ensure you log out from your online banking platforms each time and ensure that your password is not auto saved by your browser or phone.
  • In case you notice that your bank account information has been obtained by a cyber-criminal, notify your Bank with immediate effect to prevent theft in your account.
